Whole YIT

There will be no changes in the working clothes at YIT.

Whole Lemminkäinen

New working clothes complying with YIT’s brand have been ordered to everyone working at Lemminkäinen’s sites and will be delivered to work sites by the end of 2017 before the merger.

YIT stickers will be put onto Lemminkäinen’s safety helmets. They will be delivered to all construction sites by the end of 2017 before the merger.

Work-related travel, travel and other expenses 

 

Whole YIT

If you are currently employed by YIT, there will be no changes in your work-related travel or travel expense practices.

Lemminkäinen Oyj

If you are currently employed by Lemminkäinen Oyj, you will use YIT’s travel principles when travelling. The principles varies depending on the country, local travel principles can be found in YIT’s intranet Pulse. For travel expenses, you will start to use YIT’s Voyager travel expense system after the merger. Voyager user rights are given based on need to persons who travel. If you need Voyager rights, please contact toimihenkilopalkat@yit.fi after the merger has taken place. Travel expenses will be paid to your bank account together with your salary.

Lemminkäinen’s subsidiaries in Finland

If you are currently employed by Lemminkäinen’s subsidiary in Finland, there will be no changes in your travel or travel expense practices.

Lemminkäinen’s subsidiaries outside Finland

If you are currently employed by Lemminkäinen’s subsidiary outside Finland, there will be no changes in your travel or travel expense practices.

Training and induction

Whole YIT and whole Lemminkäinen

Training and induction will continue in the combined company in line with current plans. We will continue with online trainings mandatory to all YIT employees related to induction, common practices and principles (values, management principles, safety etc.). In addition to this, we will offer an online information package about the combined company translated to the languages of all operating countries.

We plan to harmonize the induction and training practices as well as online training materials of Lemminkäinen and YIT during 2018-2019. During the first quarter we will make a harmonization plan and list training partners and subcontractors. We will also renew the contents of the trainings and inductions as planned to correspond to the targets and structure of the new company. Doing this we will utilize Lemminkäinen’s and YIT’s existing trainings and best practices as well as reduce overlaps.

Office locations and ID cards

Office locations: whole YIT and whole Lemminkäinen

After the merger you will continue in the organization, job and place of work where you were before it. We are planning to combine the offices in those cities where YIT and Lemminkäinen have had overlapping activities and will inform about the decisions as soon as possible.

ID cards and work site access cards

Whole YIT

As a rule, there will be no changes in the ID badges or work site access cards of YIT with the exception of the persons moving into Lemminkäinen’s offices.

Lemminkäinen, Finland

The Valtti cards of Lemminkäinen Finland will be replaced with YIT’s cards. We will mail the new card to your home address during the first weeks after the merger.

Lemminkäinen, Salmisaari

All employees at Lemminkäinen Salmisaari will receive YIT ID cards during the first working days after the merger. If you move between Salmisaari and Panuntie on a daily basis you will receive a personal badge for both offices. If you only visit every now and then, you will receive a temporary card at the reception when you register.

Computers

Whole YIT  

You will be able to log into and to use your computer as before. 

Lemminkäinen Oyj and Lemminkäinen’s subsidiaries in Finland

Please leave your computer on and logged in the Lemminkäinen network before the merger day! We will during that time make the necessary changes to your workstation to minimize any disturbance to your daily work.

Lemminkäinen Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Estonia and Lithuania

Your computer will remain in use, and there will be no changes to logging into the computer. Before the merger day, please log out of your computer but do not shut the computer down. Also leave it plugged into power and connected to the Lemminkäinen network.

Lemminkäinen Russia and Latvia

Your computer will remain in use, and there will be no changes to logging into the computer. Before the merger day, please leave your computer in the office. IT support will install the changes

Email, calendar and contacts

Whole YIT

There will be no changes in YIT’s email or calendars. Number of contacts will increase with Lemminkäinen’s employees joining the company.

Whole Lemminkäinen

If you have had a Lemminkäinen email address, you will after the merger move into YIT’s Office 365 environment and receive a YIT email, calendar and address book. Access to YIT Office 365 services requires a YIT network account and password. We will send them to you per SMS and to your Lemminkäinen email address during the first days after the merger has taken place. 

To see your new YIT email in your Outlook, you will need to add the account yourself. You will also be able to use YIT’s WebMail service with which you can access email, calendar and contacts by using an Internet browser. You can also use YIT’s email, calendar and contacts with a mobile device. Your current mobile Lemminkäinen email, calendar and contacts will not be updated after the merger, but they will remain visible unless you delete them yourself.

Your new email address will be in the form of firstname.lastname@yit.fi. If you would have the same email address as a person currently employed by YIT, your new email will be in the form of firstname.y.lastname@yit.xx where y stands for the first letter of your second name or some other separating character and xx is your country code.

Your new YIT mailbox and calendar will be empty. Your Lemminkäinen email, calendar and contacts will continue to be visible, but in an archive mode, which means that you will not receive or be able to send emails or calendar invitations. Messages sent to your Lemminkäinen email address will be automatically redirected to your YIT address, and the emails you send will be automatically sent from your YIT address. We aim to migrate your Lemminkäinen archive email, calendar and contacts into YIT’s system as soon as possible after the merger.  

We will before the planned merger date send you the following instructions:

  • Your login ID and password to YIT’s Office 365
  • How to take YIT email into use
  • How to use YIT webmail
  • How to take YIT mobile email into use 

Meeting rooms 

Whole YIT

All Lemminkäinen meeting rooms in all countries will be visible in YIT’s calendar after the merger. There will be no changes in booking the meeting rooms.

Whole Lemminkäinen

All meeting room bookings will be made in YIT’s calendar after the merger. The calendar will contain nearly all YIT meeting rooms in all countries. 

Phones and phone numbers

After the merger has taken place, a joint phone book covering all countries will be taken into use at YIT. Contact information will be available in e-mail Contacts, in YIT’s intranet and in Lync/Skype.

Whole YIT

There will be no changes in YIT’s switchboard or the employees’ phones, mobile subscriptions or phone numbers.

Lemminkäinen Oyj and Lemminkäinen’s subsidiaries in Finland

Your phone and mobile subscription will remain unchanged. The same goes for your mobile number as well as your fixed and short number. 

The phone number of Lemminkäinen’s switchboard in Finland will change into the number of YIT’s switchboard (+358 20 433 111). If you call Lemminkäinen’s switchboard after the merger, your call will be redirected to YIT’s switchboard.

Your phone and mobile subscription stay as they are. Also your fixed telephone number and your short number will remain valid. 

Mobile phones will be forced a four-digit security code due to security reasons. 

Software and tools

Whole YIT

There will be no changes in YIT’s software or tools.

Whole Lemminkäinen

If you have had a Lemminkäinen email address, you will after the merger get access to YIT’s Skype for business and YIT Yammer (YIT’s internal social media). We will organize training for these tools.

After the merger, new YIT document templates (Word and PowerPoint) will be automatically installed in your computer.

Your other IT tools, software and files will remain as they were. Signing in into Lemminkäinen’s programs such as SokoPro will not change: you will continue to sign in using your current user ID and password.

Printing and networks

Whole YIT and whole Lemminkäinen

After the merger, we will set up YIT’s network and YIT’s printers in selected Lemminkäinen offices to enable YIT’s employees to print in Lemminkäinen’s offices. We will likewise set up Lemminkäinen’s network and printers in selected YIT offices for convenient working after the merger has taken place.  

IT support and training

Whole YIT

There will be no changes in YIT’s IT support.

Whole Lemminkäinen

Training for and roll-out of new IT systems will be done in phases so that everyone will have enough time to learn the new things. All in all, software changes will take a few years, and some of us will have to use old and new systems in parallel. We will keep you informed about the changes as the planning proceeds.

Lemminkäinen Finland

Lemminkäinen Service Desk at Tieto will continue after the merger, and you can contact them if you have any problems:

We will offer extended IT support for two weeks after the merger. This includes for example additional resources in the Service Desk and providing on-site support in selected locations. 

IT harmonization

We will be able to start planning the harmonization of YIT’s and Lemminkäinen’s IT systems after the merger has taken place. We will share additional information after the plans have been made during 2018. 

Procurement

Whole YIT and whole Lemminkäinen

The procurement contracts of both companies will remain valid at merger. Harmonization of contracts will start after the merger has taken place. Until then both companies will work with their existing suppliers unless instructed otherwise.

Lemminkäinen Infra Oy, Lemminkäinen Talo Oy and YIT Rakennus Oy

The only thing that will change at merger is the name change of Lemminkäinen’s subsidiaries in Finland. This means in practice that we will continue procurement under the same contracts as before the merger. Procurement using the other company’s contract will not be allowed. By doing this we will also ensure that invoice handling will work. We will harmonize procurement contracts after the merger has taken place and will share information on possible changes in procurement practices.
